1st week

1st week of PRCP was orientation week. Had a 3-days long orientation by the clinical instructors (CI) usually are the Senior staff nurses on different topics on 3 different days @ the pathology lecture theatre, the seats are damn bloody HARD can!!! Sit until got broken skin and pressure sores! felt lke bring a swimming float n sit on it..

Day 1
1. Intro to orientation programme
2. Welcome address by Deputy director of nursing (ADN)
3. Roles and responsibilities of a final yr student
4. Admission & transfer of pts
5. Discharge planning procedures
6. Coordinate clinical pathway (CCP) on laparoscopic cholecytectomy.. super dry topic!!!
7. Handling of pt who absconds
8. Documentation of Inpatient medication record (IMR)
9. Human resources issues (HR)

Day 2
1. Labelling n despatching of blood specimens
2. Ward routines & work processes (impatient consulation referrals, diagnostic procedures, treatment procedures, adhoc meal orders)
3. How to identify & reporting of adverse drug reactions
4. Pre & post mgmt of pts undergoing invasive procedures

Day 3
1. Medications rights & errors
2. Nursing care rpt
3. Drug calculations

Was in the ward on thursday n fri.. CI gave us orientation of the ward etc.. got nth much to do.. just float n help ard.. and my preceptor is a nice person!! can joke with her.. NO MORE BASIC for me.. must think more in depth ald!!

Roster out ald! i'm working on weekends, and no more ending work @ 9pm! End work @ 9.35pm instead! i got 2 off days every week (this week: thur n fri).. i really need to treasure and spend my off days wisely..

SGH PRCP roster is finally OUT!!!! I'm going to Ward 75 for 3 months!!! Orthopaedic ward.. sounds cool~ but heard from kat and the rest of my classmates as they have went to that ward b4.. it was very unpleasant.. the sister even locked up MICROPORE!!! WTF man~ i dont know how am I going to survive the 3 mths.. I hope to get a good preceptor and hope things will go smoothly!!!

I'M A SURVIVOR!!!! I've survived the 4 weeks of posting in 63C... like FINALLY!! no more of waking up super early n play FB on the sly and get home late... FOR NOW! Wait till PRCP, will not be let off so early n easily... So nice to have the trainee CI from various hospitals to share their experiences in their respective hospital!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Did catheterization today for the 1st time on my last day of geron, but with supervision definitely! luckily my patient (11/6 ah ma) is nice and good~~ so my objective of performing catheterization was met!! Happy!! =D

And those who arer starting their holidays, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

I dislike the staffs in my room that i'm assigned to, EXCEPT for a few that is friendly and approachable.. I'm so envious of my friends for having nice n friendly staffs in their assigned rooms.. haizzz =(

Presented my case to CI M ald.. i didnt turned out good as expected, cos it's a last min work.. watever! but i need to find out certain things abt my pt over this weekend and get back to her~

PRCP schedule still not out yet.. left with 1 month plus and PRCP starts!!! Doris MF Chan is soo inefficient!!

Cant wait for next week to end!!!!

Now i'm e middle of 2nd week.. waiting for weekends n paycheck to come!!

Ytd I finally get to insert NGT into the patient for gastric aspiration plus intermittent suctioning of his gastric contents.. He's very comfortable and cooperative when I was inserting the NGT. But then he vomited quite a lot.. and it's normal for ppl like him to puke.. I cant stand ppl vomit in front of me, i felt like gagging, but luckily got CI M.. And this is my 1st time inserting it into a LIVE pt! It's way way smoother than inserting into the sch dummy..

Surprisingly CI M is very nice, I shall not judge the books by its cover.. so she gave me feedback etc.. My perception towards her had changed..

Hopefully today can get to practice more skills! Tmr on morning shift, need to get up @ 5am!! =(

Need to prepare myself 4 work later.. ciao!

1st week

First week was ok.. still prefer w45.. staffs r better back @ 45.. my room got 1 super CAL nurse~ (CAL=chao ah lian), her mouth are full of vulgarities n talk damn bloody loud in front of pt.. pass report also like want to fight like tat... She even say CB in e cubicle.. wah lao eh~~ but she is quite efficient in her work, surprisingly! that's e good point abt her.. I dont wish to go there for my PRCP in Dec! *keep fingers X!*

I dont like the main CI in e ward.. She is very particular in pre-documentation and I cant help my friend to chart down things.. but i dont really care, i'll still do it when she's not around! Took 3 cases on wed.. the staff nurse allowed me to write reports.. I hope to write more next week for my next cubicle.. The worst thing abt e ward is we have to share stetoscope n Sp02 machine for soo many cubicles! WTH!!! and I cant wear Crocs to work, cos the sister dont like!!

HSE posting was boring! we played with e old ppl there, time passed super slow.. staffs there are ok.. felt like I'm going back to IMH..

Hope that the next 3 weeks will BREEZE FAST!

Went out with Regina and Mo Phoung ytd to Bugis as planned. Ate Swensens @ Bugis, the service there sucks, but we enjoyed by cracking jokes etc... ate a set consisted of a main course, drink, soup of e day, and a small cup of ice-cream!!! 3 of us cost $36.. and inclusive of 30% discount.. cheap~~ =D Den we made our way down to Bugis street n GO SHOPPING!!!!!!! That's e best thing that I enjoyed! Shiok!!! Bought a blazer upstairs, nice! But I still want to own a light denim kind of blazer also.. hahah!! Leave it for next time!! Den both of them bought tops from Kamy, nice colors n designs.. how I wished i'm smaller sized.. so I can fit into them.. =(..

We later went back to Parco, and sat down n ate J.Co donuts!!! YUMMY!!!!*thumbs up*. And Regina n me bought THEBODYSHOP's latest Spa wisdom Africa set @ $19.90 each.. but have yet to use it~ haha.. =)

1st wedding reception!

Attended my classmate, Kat's wedding reception today.. Met up with Shark and XL at Bedok Inter and we took bus 168 all the way to Woodlands Regional Interchange and took feeder bus to her place. We literally count the number of bustops to her place cos it's my first time in Woodlands.. like me going to a foreign country.. haha~ Luckily still got chance to see her b4 she went over to her groom's place.. Mr Bernard and Ms Jenny attended the wedding reception.. We sat down, eat and chit chat for a couple of hours before we left.. Ms Jenny sent us back to Bedok Inter, den I accompanied Shark to buy her OT slipper..

Last day in MOT - during lunchtime..

Updates for the next 3 days of my MOT posting..

Day 3: GS theatre (General surgery) Cases: 3

Guess wat? we meet a cute and friendly anaesthetist.. He looked like Dr Lam (Bio science lecturer).. Initially I and my friend, Trisa went to approach the AU nurse about the anaesthetic drugs, since the CI wanted us to go and find out.. so she asked us to ask the anaesthetist himself instead, cos she said that he is a very nice doctor.. and he is nice indeed!! He even asked us whether he need to explain the MOA of each drugs a not.. we said dont need lah.. cos we only want to know wat are the common types of anaesthetic drugs used etc.. The surgeon also very nice. surprisingly! He even asked us to come over to take a look at the nerves, veins and arteries.. damn cool lah!!!!!

Day 4: Colorectal surgery Cases: 5

Finally got to scrub in!!! Mine is a very simple and fast procedure.. and the surgery is not 100% sterile.. even though is not 100% sterile, we also must not breach sterility. The case that I scrubbed in was transanal excision of anal polyp, which the surgeon will cut off the excess skin at the anus and send it for histology test.. I scrubbed in with a SSN.. she is very nice and teach me how to arrange the instuments, how to pass instruments to the surgeon etc.. The procedure took about 15mins, and after the procedure is done, the scrub nurse cleanse the wound with Centrimide. I also decontaminate the surgical instruments with her and later followed her to despatch the specimen for histology.. The specimen is soaked with Formaline (Formaldehyde), it is used to preserve the tissue so it will not decay. It's a good experience though!!

Day 5: ENT / Plastic surgery.. Cases: 2

Actually got 3 cases, but we dont get to see the 1st case cos the patient's not coming for surgery cos of her son's exam.. she is scheduled today to remove her breast implant.. haizzzz...
The ENT / plastic surgeon is also very nice.. he's the head & senior consultant.. he even recognised us as nursing students~~

And so.......Overall, for me, OT posting is more interesting compared to ED, can learn and observe a lot of things and the OT stuffs are nicer den the ED ones.. Now left Geron which is like 4 LONG weeks!!! Haizzzzzzz... Cant wait to go BKK in Nov!!

2 days in MOT down! Ytd was assigned to OT L7, which is O&G theatre.. Seen like 4 O&G cases, but didnt scrub in, cos 1st day ma.. hahah.. shall scrub in tmr or thursday.. The CI is kinda fierce.. I dont dare to talk to her can.. like we own her a living.. still blamed the sch for sending so many students in MOT.. she wanted 10 students only, but wat to do? Sch want to send wat.. watever lah she.. grrr!!

Today was assigned to recovery room / bank floater.. the staff there are nice esp the bank floater.. I was attached to an EN and send pt from reception to OT and check pt b4 sending to OT, make sure is the correct pt, operation etc.. she will sit down and teach me abt what they do there etc... but I wont want to work in OT next yr! I rather work in e ward~

Did you hear about the nurse who died and went straight to hell?? It took her two weeks to realize she wasn't at work! You know you're a nurse if.....

• You believe that every patient needs TLC, diazepam,temazepam and haloperidol.

• You would like to meet the inventor of the Nurse call buzzer some night in a dark alley.

• You believe not all patients are annoying, some are unconscious.

• Your sense of humour gets more warped each year.

Believe me, this is how we think, ALL THE TIME, Scary huh??It must be added to the list that you hate flying just incase the air stewards announce "if there is a Doctor or Nurse on board... please make yourself known to the cabin crew" At which point you cringe and hide!

Me with Mo Phaung n Regina @ ED's procedure room (LAST DAY!)

Orthopaedics room was cool.. met a 'yah yah papaya' female hand Dr with slang, as what Diana described her as.. But she was actually not so bad lah.. we went to observe the I&D procedure, and 'assist' her by holding the pt's hand up.. and surprising she said 'thanks a lot'! At least she appreciated my help~ Seen a few cases, like a woman that cut herself when slicing soap and the wound is so deep that the tendon is exposed (not the whole tendon). Diabetic foot, # finger.. Later we get to observe the Dr doing CLOSED M&R on an elderly women, who had a # at her wrist i think.

* M&R = Manipulation and reduction. In closed M&R, the Dr will do a nerve block via IV bolus and he/she will straighten / pull the pt's hand in alignment.

Was assigned to CCA / Resus room, but wasnt much cases or any resus case.. so we went to walk ard and stayed in the procedure room after the break.. Saw one super bloody case, A chinese national man came in for I&D.. thumb got pus and his thumbnail have to be removed.. Later, a small girl came in cos she got scalded, suffered from superficial wounds.. lucky her.. and the EN did dressing for her.. Ard 8.30pm, a middle-aged Chinese man came in from the fever area, cos his wound was slightly open and the Dr have to suture it back.. but the pt was very nice lah... he can even chit-chat with the Dr man.. haha.. =)

Next week in MOT! hopefully it will be good and fruitful posting!! =DD

Semestral results out today! finally got an A grade in my 3 yrs of nursing studies~ YAY!! luckily passed all modules, thank god dont need to take supp paper, which will be damn difficult..

2 days in ED down ald.. first day of ED was boring esp e orientation, the relief CI is boring! Was assigned to Triage, did ECG non-stop, patients flow in like mad! Got 1 malay man got SOB, ECG shows atrial fibrillation (AF), den he went into resus room.. dunno now still alive a not.. but he looked fine to me.. his condition turned worse super fast.. oh well~ I dont really like working in ED.. cos will lose yr skills, den want to learn back also very hard..

Today was assigned to Consultation room, super BORING can! early in the morning no pts, until afternoon, pts wait outside like waiting for Dr in polyclinics. Got 2 chinese Drs, they are both CHINESE, but they dont even speak chinese, need a translator.. OMG! Should be ashamed of themselves man! tsk tsk.. =( I also gave an IM Diclofenac (Voltaren®) injection to a female pt in e buttocks!, with the staff nurse's supervision of course~

Managed to write report ytd.. Yeh!!!! wrote on paper and let my SN to check and write in the progress notes, but never get to pass to the night staffs, cos they come in at 9pm.. now at least I can answer CI already.. PM CI popped over to c us last night and was discussing about blood transfusion with the yr 1s.. she kept looking at our nametags, macam want to pin-point us, thinking that we were skiving! But we were NOT!!

Will start doing my case study using SBAR.. SBAR: Situation, Background, Assessment and Recommendation.. we r supposed to report the abnomalities to e Dr in yr shift, using SGH telephone technique. Cos this is very X1000.. important when we passed out as SN.. and this can prepare us in the real situation in the near future~

1st week of medical posting down.. Overall was good! and I like CI G~.. =D She's really a very good CI and the best that I encountered so far.. she is very friendly and treat us like her friend and always encourage us no matter how we and the juniors fare.. I was given a chance to assess the yr 2 students on wound dressings with her help and it is not easy to be an assessor because you have to think before you ask questions or give constructive feedback in order not to make the student feel intimidated.. It's a very good experience so that I, as a staff nurse can give constuctive feedback to my students without hurting their feelings.. She taught us a lot of things that no CI or sch lecturer has ever tell us..

Need to take on a simple case starting from next week, need to have SN's permission to let me write report in case notes.. hope to learn more and also guide my juniors, so that I wont have a hard time during PRCP.. =)

Went to Bedok's Pizza Hut to have lunch with CT, then went to library to study and enjoy free aircon.. Went to library cafe to chill, had Hilarious Hazelnut.. not as nice as last time.. never drink it again.. wasted my $$~ =(

Went separate ways and took train to meet my aunt at Tampines bus interchange.. Went to Tampines 1 to shop.. haha.. bought stretchable straight skinny black jeans from Uniqlo.. nice n comfy!!!

Went Tampines Mall to run errands for my mum at NTUC..

Now left the last 2 days of school le and no more studying in sch le, will be out on clinicals in Sem 2.. *sobs2* =(.. no more ICA presentations, lectures, tutorials, skills lab.. no more working with stubborn ppl and making things complicated, which is a good thing.. but anyway, it's have been a great pleasure to work with Shark for 3 years and we have never been apart!! haha.. =).. Anyway, love to work with u guys and hope that we will KIT even when we r working as a registered nurse!

Went out with my group members ytd afternoon and shopped @ ION ORCHARD at night after dinner to digest.. Bought an identical t-shirt from Zara but diff color and sizes of course for our sociology presentation tmr, which is the LAST one.. den FC and me went to try a white blouse at Newlook.. damn nice lah.. but then is quite expensive n transparent.. Wait till payday first lah.. like Zara's leather bags, damn chio and the price also damn chio lah.. hehe..

Cant wait for payday, and enjoy for a few days before my attachment starts! =)

Attended Ms Cindy H's Adult 5 Orthopaedic lecture, very interesting and she loads us full of information, as if she just eaten her orthopaedic textbook and blurt it all out.. her lectures are very interesting, enjoying it very much~ Orthopaedics lectures are kinda short.. sadly =(

Went straight home with Shark, and there is...............NO SCHOOL for.............. 4 days! Cos I have shifted the Sociology tut to thursday, cos tuesday is only my group's presentation.. and that's it.. so my group can have more time to prepare for the presentation.. and also study for the upcoming exams~~~~

Today left home @ 11am to Bugis Junction, went to Kinokuniya bookstore to find the magazine that I wanted!! but dont have.. so sad!!! =( Bought Watson's membership card for $5... dont even need to renew! and bought 2 carotns of Fruit tree fresh blueberry and cranberry juice, and plastic cups from the gang, chilled outside the koi pond and Hidayah became the "bartender" of the day.. haha.. but we had a good time!!!

Had Mgmt meeting and me n my group members became restless, as time goes by.. as usual.. side-tracked a lot~~

Meet Mr Bernard @ Northpt's Swensens as he promised to give us a treat for our hardwork for the FYP anti-smoking event.. and also presented him a SORRY card, made by Zubi cos we didnt attend his FYP tut and he got upset with us ytd.. haha.. glad that he is ok now~ i know that he is not that petty type.. haha.. ate until damn full and took train home with CT n XL.. haha.. fun fun fun!!!

I PASSED my skills. practical test today!! WOOOOO!!! I got CVP, which many of us get today..when I read the case scenario, I felt happy that I got the skill that I want~~ Mr Tang ML assessed me, he was nice and the only problem is that I cant tell what is the indication for CVP.. I stood there n think for a while den i came out with the answer..

Now busy with ICA presentations and the upcoming exams.. Attachment roster is OUT! I start attachment after the exams~ OT and ED posting.. hope it will be interesting and fun.. and 4 weeks of holidays and 4 weeks of geron posting and another 4 weeks of holidays and HSE and lastly....... PRCP!!!

This afternoon rained heavily.. still feeling cold until now.. luckily i've recovered from fever.. if not, i'll suffering in silence.. haha..

Down with fever last Wed, which is on FYP day.. that day was an important day and my fever forced me not to go to school.. felt very sad that day.. went to c doctor on that morning, and doctor gave me MC and i went to sch the next day, cos i've no more fever ald.. Took my skills theory test last fri, was ok leh.. can pass lah...

Tmr is my life-and-death day, which is my skills practical!! I hope I can get a nice n lenient lecturer and pass it.. cos I stayed back to practice my skills for the last time before the test tmr.. =)

Feel like snuggling myself under my blanket now.. gtg n bathe now n study my skills... toodles! =D

Went to city hall with PJ after sch.. first time going out without my usuals.. kinda weird.. but it was alright..haha.. =D

Went to DP, Topshop, Miss Selfridge and River Island.. looked ard for clothes.. bought a denim dress at DP, and 2 plain tops from Topshop.. got discount.. cos PJ got member card.. Thanks PJ! haha..

Went to eat Chippy's Battered fish with beer.. Damn nice, cos i'm hungry and drowned them with my all-time favourite Strawberry milk tea! Sat @ the fountain n chit-chat.. haha..

Just came home not long.. feeling full, guess I'm not eating dinner le..

Tmr having Adult nursing 5 and Mgmt meeting.. Practice function test and airway mgmt tmr during skills lesson for fri's test! hope i can pass it once n for all~ =)

Went to Bangkok with my dad n bro for a 4 day-3 night getaway.. The weather there is not as hot n humid as in Singapore.. Due to the low standard of living, everything is DIRT CHEAP! except for branded items, which is about the same price or slighty more expensive than here.. bought 8 FBT tshirts for me and the gang! n bought some toiletries.. nothing much.. left quite a lot of $$.. Went to CentralWorld shopping centre, which is situated at the city, like Orchard road.. the Forever 21 store is freaking BIG sia!! walked ard like mad.. XXII Forever is the shop name.. and went to Zara also~ The prices are not really cheap though.. Spoilt for choice seriously! Went to chill at Starbucks before watching TERMINATOR SALVATION to pass time, the cinema is very big and the seats are comfy! and each ticket cost abt S$5!

The weather here is getting more HOT and HUMID these days.. =(

Took NAPFA TEST ytd.. the last time I did was in Sec 5, which is 3 yrs ago... It's easier to pass n get a Bronze back then, now cant even get Bronze sia.. only certificate of participation.. Flunked my inclined pullup as usual, shuttle run and 2.4km run-walk.. My best is still my Sit-and-reach~ Whatever it is, it's not timportant, I only want to collect > CCA points..

Went to AMK hub with Hidayah to buy RED FBT tshirt for tmr's game.. walked2 ard, den went home by bus.. and buy dinner n bubble tea for myself n my bro~~

Going to sch tmr for captain's ball game.. cos is SHS sports day i guess~~

Going to BKK with my dad n bro on Monday, will be back on Thursday.. must wake up at 4am.. taking the 6.30am flight.. WTH~ And not forgetting the subgroup's outing, ICA meetings and outing with Shark on the 2nd week.. all lined-up for me! hehehe~

AN 4 Presentation turned out well today, cos we have the whole of the 50 mins to present and the roleplay and not rushing for time.. and we also have a nice and kinda motherly lecturer, Mdm J.Chua.. She wont brutal us in frount like some lecturer did to my group, if want to brutal, she will say when the class has gone out.. And comparing with the previous presentation, we performed WAY~ BETTER!!! For now, dont need to worry so much ald..

Have to do research for National Education's ICA! WTH?? NE is not even related to Nursing at all! Must pass this module den can graduate.. crap s**t!

Started sch at 8am, and realised that there is NO AN 4 lecture.. I kuai2 brought the book.. Wahlau.. and ended at 11am.. went to have group meeting after AN 3 tut..

Today went to practice 2.4km run and the 5 items with Shark and CT... and we are supposed to run 6 rounds ard the track, CT ran e full 6 rounds NON-STOP but I and Shark only run and walk for 2 rounds, which is only 800m.. but we enjoy ourselves though.

Tmr meeting CT @ 10am, planning to catch "night at the museum 2" at Iluma.. and lunch @ Pastamania.. =D

Today went to Sentosa's Tanjong beach with the class, only 11 were present.. the rest were tied down by the graduation etc.. Went to Tanjong beach, eat, soak feet in the seawater, hid in shelter.. Rained and a chinese male drunkard was struck by lightning!! Luckily he never die on e spot, or else become roasted! only kena the back n was sent to the nearest hospital.

Went to Vivo via monorail at ard 4.30pm.. Went to walk around with SY for the first time at Watsons and Tangs, cos she needs to leave at 6pm..

Kena brutal by CKJ.. and our group is having group crisis with the most problematic and stubborn person.. First time see FC and Shakinah soooo BS with her.. Cannot take it ald.. & Must start INTENSIVE meetings starting from next Wed and cancel e group outing, cos the presentation is 1 week plus from now~~

After sch, headed down to S'pore Expo with e gang w/o Shark and XL to the CROCS SALE!! We waited outside e door to get in, and camwhoring @ e same time.. HAHAHA!! so fun!! holding on to each other's bag and combed ard the whole area..

I PASSED the skills pract test today!!! got surgical handrubbing, which I wanted!!! I only get to draw 1 card, cos there is only 1 left~ =).. Assessed by one of my class's skills lecturer, Mr BL.. he is naggy, as most of us that were assesssed by him agreed.. his face is also RED like tomato~ like just drank red wine like tat.. haha..

Reached sch at 8am and sch management have also started the temperature taking despite the SWINE FLU alert in Singapore has gone down to YELLOW, last week was ORANGE.

Had ROUND ONE skills pract test on OT GOWNING & GLOVING, luckily everyone PASSED, cos we have a nice and lenient lecturer, Ms CN. And the skill is managable also.. Next week tuesday we will have ROUND TWO skills pract test again, but we are not assessed but our lecturers, but is other lecturers.. nervous!! and we must draw lots, got 3 skills which are Eye dressing and instillation of eye medications, Conscious level charting (CLC) and OT handscrubbing and u choose 1.. AHHHH!!! =(

Had lunch in sch with e gang and go for Sociology tut.. The lecturer is LAME AND BORING!!! We never paid attention to his lectures! This module is damn DRY~ and we have ICA presentation to do.. Will be very restless when having group meeting for this module! hahah..

Sch was fine today.. went to the gym with the gang without 91 after class to use the treadmil and I only burned up 12 calories.. better than nothing.. later, our class played captain's ball today at Sports hall after sch.. have a lot of fun playing.. my group is blacks' group and the other group is ribbon's group.. The Blacks consisted of Wei-Qi, Michelle, Diana, Me, CT, Shark, Huifang and Lili.. played till we sweat like crazy~ but for me I dont really sweat much.. Oh well~

Yes! Finally bought my PUMA LIFT RACER WOMEN'S that I wanted! Bought dark blue and light blue combi instead. They dont have the color that I wanted (Maroon and Black), only available in Hongkong.. Damn it!! but this is still nice~ bought at the original price.. not fated to enjoy the 20% discount offer only at Tampines 1.. Sadly =(

Ytd went to grandma house to fold joss papers and make lotus flowers (lian hua) with my extended family members and my mum for my grandpa.. then crapped away with my younger cousin, JY in the maid's bedroom.. Later my cousin, JM said that she wanted to go to Tampines 1, cos she never go b4..

The sisters came over to my house, while I prepared my belongings. We later took bus 65 to Tampines Interchange. Ate KFC there, JY and me ordered Student Meal - Fish Zinger and JM ordered Zinger Original.

Jalan-ed at Tampines 1, bought Duckie from More Than Words.. haha.. so cute and dumb2!

Jalan-ed till 9pm and went separate ways.. hopefully I can buy something for them next time.. =)

THANK GOD IT'S THURSDAY! Tmr is LABOUR DAY! NO SCH AND DONT NEED TO WAKE UP @ 6AM!!

Went to Marina Square ytd evening with CT, asked her to accompany me after sch.. Cos I wanted to buy my Puma Lift shoes, I dragged myself and my heavy bag there.. felt like throwing my bag aside and run.. and her bag was not light either!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TAKING YOUR TIME TO ACCOMPANY ME, CT! although I didnt buy the shoes, cos of the size and the colors...just not nice.. and the shop dont even have a single human being! I bought only leggings from Fourskin in the end~ I was also tempted by the clothes @ Fox.. haiz.. what to do.. we girls will not have enough bags, shoes and clothes. Our list will always go on and on..

Den jalan-ed for a while, den CT complained that there is symphony going on in her stomach, so I thought of going to Swensen's to have dinner.. but ex.. den later we saw PizzaHut, so we went on to have the student meal instead.. laughed like mad during dinner, inside jokes lah!

Went home ard 6plus.. CT have to go home.. Me 2!

Tmr and sat are family day for me.. hoping to spend more time with my extended family.. And I've got another shopping date with Shark on Sun! looking so forward to it~ =P

Went out shopping with shark at town area and bugis street yesterday.. went to swensens at parco.. ate fries and chicken and we waited for the ice cream for more than an hour! sooo slow!! their ice cream no stock or wat.. not going to go there anymore! first impression sucks! then I bought toiletries from body shop.. can they stop increasing the price!! and I got freaked out by the bapok make-up specialist cum cashier by the way "she" talk.. errr~ and also clothes and shoes from bugis street.. went home ard 6.30pm.. feel so shiok going out shopping and chilling at cafes.. =D

Later going to grandma house with my mum to fold more yuan bao (元宝) for my grandpa, the more the better for him~ and also have dinner there.. tmr must wake up at 6am to go to sch.. *sian*.. gonna sleep in lecture!

During AN 3 lecture, my stomach is growling super loudly.. symphony la.. After that, we went to have Mac breakfast then CT & Hidayah went to Cheers to buy their food.. The rest of the gang went to have their group meeting. So left me and Shark, we went to library and use com for a while then we watched a 2006 film The Shaggy Dog for 1.5 hours in the library.. The dog is so cute and funny.. =D

Feel like sleeping now.. but cannot lah, later at night cannot sleep..

These few days I was busy with my grandpa's wake.. Slept at 1am ytd and woke up at 6.30am today cos my mum asked me to help my dad to carry vegetarian food for 30 ppl.. have been eating vegetarian for 5 days! wat to do, for my grandpa's sake!

Today never go to sch, to send him off his last journey.. finally cried like mad today when the undertaker closed up his coffin~ I just cannot take it.. May u RIP in the another world.. =) Have to make up for skills on Week 3 Thurs.. Reason for absence is COMPASSIONATE LEAVE.

Just went to e-services to state my absence in sch's system, I'm registered for all mods, FINALLLLY! and also got my personalised timetable.. must print out tmr.. with my name and admin no on it~ cos I got 4 HRS BREAK! nothing to do anyway.. can slack ard..

Just came back from sch at 1.. finally I got all the books in the booklist for the FIRST TIME! Must be someone went to complain abt the photocopy shop aunty for being so slow n inefficient!!

Adult nursing 4 & Nursing Lab 3 lecture notes and workbook are freaking THICK!! not going to take out the notes for each lessons.. cos I very lazy to put back.. haha.. =)

Soon will he the end of the 2 weeks holidays after the attachment n we will start our yr 3 semester on next mon.. another round of hell with presentations, skills theory and practical tests.. SUPER DUPER INTENSE!! and semester 2 is all out on clinicals..

My holidays are ok until my aunt went back to Australia after staying here for 3 long mths to take care of my sickly grandpa and with her maid too.. cos she will ask me out almost everyday.. Missed her presence here.. =(

I accompanied my mum to Thai Embassy to settle her citizenship matter, I was inside and it started to rain. My mum have to go out and photocopy her IC, she came back and put the wet umbrella beside the carpet staircase where I was sitting, while I read my brochures. The cleaner saw me and the umbrella and approached me with a BS tone..

Cleaner: Can you put the umbrella outside and dont wet my carpet?
She walked away..
Me: *rolled my eyes and ignored her*

Pls la~ is just a small spot only wat.. who want to wet yr stupid old carpet!

Not long later, I was talking on the phone, I've to talk louder cos the place is pretty noisy. The person approached me and tell me off: 'Can you please go outside and talk?'. Den I went to one corner and talk. So pissed off!!

Went to vivo on my b'day with CT instead cos Shark is not feeling well.. Wasted sia!! nvm, we shall go out on $$pay day$$!! =) We shopped like crazy.. She spent a bomb.. way more den me.. she rich ma.. haha.. bought 2 skirts.. The denim bohemian skirt which can be worn as a tube top as well from Hypnosis and blue striped skirt from Gap.. Sorry CT! hehe.. the material is soo soft lah~ =D

Just saw my timetable, not the personalised one.. cos I dont have it!! Arghhh~ so I called up Jenny C to ask.. she checked it out for me and she told me cos they need to put up my clinical result.. ridiculous shit!! and to get the timetable from 91.. I start my school days at 8AM EVERYDAY for the first 3 weeks.. and thank god, we dont end sch at 6pm.. which is the peak hour for everyone to go home and the MRT will be freaking packed with ppl like sardines in the can.. So we usually end at 3pm or 4pm and on tuesdays is at 12pm.. So I'm going to buy my lecture notes with the sea creatures KIV tmr..waiting for CT's update on the lecture notes as she is going back to sch today..

Just went to have my teeth cleaned and polished at Bedok Polyclinic on Monday morning on behalf of my dad, cos he sway2 have to go to work on that day.. since I have not had my teeth cleaned for a long time., so I decided to have my teeth checked.. I remembered the last time I had my teeth cleaned is in Sec 5, which the dentist from HPB come over to the sch..

I went over to the dental registration counter to register, my mum told the person that my dad unable to make it today, so she asked whether she can change my dad's name to mine.. The person gave that CB face, like not happy like that.

Person: I can change for you, next time cannot.

Mum: So must I make a call or come down personally?

Person: Either way.

Me: *thinking*, what way? *rolled my eyes*

Then I and my mum sat down to wait for our name to be called. Our seats were not yet warmed up, and the dentist assistant called us and we went into the rooms. The dentist interviewed me and started examinine my teeth, and she started scaling.. and her assistant placed the suction tube at the side of my mouth to remove my secretions so that I wont choke on it..

After scaling, she told me that when she was scaling my teeth, my gums were bleeding like crazy and she diagnosed me with gingivitis (gum inflammation).. wat e hell~~ so she advised me to brush my teeth properly etc.. WHATEVER! so she polished my teeth also. Den she told me that next TCU date is 6 mths later, which is on 7 Nov..

So that's abt it la.. enough of rantings ald.. tata!

Going to be the last week of posting le.. yes!! the ward staff are nice and friendly, but 1 or 2 are not that approachable.. so cant be bothered with them.. I did last office (LO) on my first week of posting and for the FIRST TIME~ Actually it was ok la.. as I felt that I am doing a good deed by cleaning and 'wrapping' and tying the patient up so that his hands and legs will not be dangling.. may u RIP in the another world.. ~~OM~~

I got 2 cute patients in my cubicle, they are special as they are both PERANAKANS, but they dont talk to each other.. My pt, Mr S has very low pain threshold, he hates the doctors and nurses taking blood from his hand.. When they takes blood from him, he will 'Ooo~' in pain, and his facial expression is so funny! And he will say: 'The doctors and nurses always come and take my blood, now i've no more blood and i'll die with no blood..'

On a particular afternoon, when the ward is more settled, Lili and me decided to start on our case study, and we went to interview Mr S. When Lili and me was interviewing Mr S for our case study. She popped a question.

Lili: Mr S, how old are you?
Mr S: I'm 83 yrs old.
Lili: OMG! you doesnt look like your age! you looked younger..
Mr S: *laughs*
Lili: What did you do??
Mr S: I drink tomato juice everyday, without fail..
Me: *in my heart thinking*.. GROSSED!!

The moral of the story is u want to stay young forever, drink TOMATO JUICE everyday!! haha.. =D

Another pt of mine, Mr R is very vain.. he likes to comb his hair before eating and after eating. Whenever I see him combing, i will disturb him..

Me: Mr R, u very handsome ald lah, dont need to comb yr hair ald..
Mr R: *laughs*.. No lah..

I also got another cute patient in Lili's cubicle.. Kat n PJs' favourite pt also..he is sooo cute!! like old Winnie the Pooh.. he likes to say 'wei shen me' (why in chinese) in a very low voice.. haha.. =P

Not forgetting the female patients, I got nothing to say abt the patients cos I was not in-charge of the female cubicles.. BUT is the GRANDSONS that are I and my fellow friends that are attracted to! Got a very big-sized patient, who seems to have a lot of grandsons.. She got a pair of identical twins grandsons.. They looked so HOTTT!! *pssst*.. so good looking can~ and another super filial grandson that I and Michelle saw was also HOTTT!! he sayang his grandma a lot.. where got grandson so sayang the grandma one?? That particular evening, he came to visit his grandma, he wore simply a plain white tshirt n jeans.. so hot can!!! cos he got very nice body shape.. WooH!! *faints*..

So that's abt all abt my recent clinical experience in a respiratory ward..
